Electrostatic actuator (1)
Efficiently convert electrostatic attraction into mechanical work! Invention of a small electrostatic actuator.
In this invention, the electrostatic actuator utilizes the phenomenon where the gap distance between a pair of opposing electrodes changes due to the electrostatic attraction generated when a voltage is applied to the electrodes. To achieve a sufficient amount of displacement as an actuator, the electrostatic attraction was initially small, making it difficult to obtain a large output, which was a challenge. Therefore, an elastic body, such as a spring, was used not only as a support but also as a component to store mechanical energy. As a result, a compact electrostatic actuator was developed that efficiently converts electrostatic attraction into mechanical work by transforming it into elastic force. [Research Summary] - Capable of performing work after converting electrostatic attraction into elastic force - Efficiently converts electrostatic attraction into mechanical work - Can generate large forces and work while being compact *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
